Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 15, 2026

Screenshot Max Pro is a screenshot and screen-recording app for Windows. This policy explains what information the app handles and where it goes.

Your captures stay on your computer

Screenshots, recordings, GIFs, audio, recognized text (OCR) and keystroke overlays are created and processed entirely on your computer. They are saved only where you choose (by default your Pictures folder) and copied to your clipboard if you enable that. Screenshot Max Pro never uploads your captures anywhere.

License activation

If you buy Screenshot Max Pro, the app contacts our payment and licensing provider, Lemon Squeezy, to activate and periodically verify your license key. These requests contain:

Lemon Squeezy returns the license status along with the name and email address on your purchase, which the app shows in its License window. This information is stored encrypted on your computer. Purchases themselves are handled by Lemon Squeezy as merchant of record; see their privacy policy.

FFmpeg download

Video and GIF recording use FFmpeg, an open-source encoder. The Microsoft Store version includes it. Other versions can download it, when you ask, from its public release page on GitHub. That request contains nothing about you or your captures (as with any download, GitHub sees your IP address).

What we don't do

Data stored on your computer

Settings, your license (encrypted) and an error log are stored in your Windows user profile. The error log stays on your computer unless you choose to send it to us for support.

Children

Screenshot Max Pro is a general productivity tool and is not directed at children under 13.

Changes

If this policy changes, we'll update the date above and publish the new version at this address.
